Many years ago I became acutely aware of the plight of orphans throughout the world.  Among those whose story is remarkable in her quest to help children in need is a woman by the name of Amanda De LangeThrough a series of miracles, she was granted permission to run a children's foster home in China for special needs children.

She called her home Starfish after the often told story of the starfish thrown back into the water and how it made a difference to that one.  She devoted her life to the precious special needs children entrusted to her care.

Sadly Amanda recently died after a brave battle with uterine cancer.  Her quest continues though and Starfish is currently asking for donations to keep this wonderful home going to help little ones who might not otherwise have a chance at life or a family.

They are offering a series of  beautiful Starfish necklaces for purchase.  At holiday time, our hearts and thoughts often turn to those in need.  Why not give a necklace as a special gift that will keep on giving?  If you prefer to donate money to their home, you can do so.

Having met Amanda in person a couple of years ago, I know that her compassion and selfless service was not in vain.  Her efforts live on as caring people continue to run the Starfish Foster Home and work tirelessly to get the funds needed to help the precious Chinese orphans they care for.
